Why we built PluginJoy
WordPress plugins haven’t really changed in fifteen years. Bloated. Slow. Ad-saturated. Dashboard panels designed for a 2010 admin screen. Pricing that punishes you for having more than one site.
We started with a single plugin — Clarity SEO — to see if we could make a Yoast alternative that genuinely felt lighter, faster, and built for what’s coming next: AI-driven search. 90+ active installs in the first month, with no marketing. So we kept going.
Today PluginJoy is six plugins covering the boring-but-critical surface area of running a WordPress site: SEO, accessibility, backups, media optimization, time/scheduling, and core site-vitals monitoring. Each one is small, modern, AI-first, and shares a single credit pool with the others.
What we believe
Three principles drive every plugin we ship — they’re the difference between adding to the WordPress plugin sprawl and replacing it.
AI-first, not AI-bolted-on
Every plugin uses Claude Sonnet 4.6 as a primary author, not as a feature toggle. AI-generated meta, alt-text, schema, audits, rewrites — the heavy lifting happens by default.
